MY TAKE: For a country of only 32 million people, Canada must raise the planet’s highest per capita rate of bland superstars. Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Nickleback, Michael Buble, Justin Bieber … and Bieber is from the same small town as The Band’s Richard Manuel ffs; his parents have no excuse.

Canada has produced, and still does, some of the best and most influential musicians. But then there’s…I call it placebo rock. Sounds like rock, looks like rock, nothing there.
