Soul legend Solomon Burke died last year, but John Nemeth also released Name The Day!, his fourth album, and all may not be lost. Burke refused to be pigeon-holed and so it is with Nemeth, who is claimed by soul, blues and R&B.

He can croon tenderly or growl roughly, and plays a mean harmonica besides; it is, however, when he sounds like a child of that slightly urbane 60s Memphis soul that he becomes truly special.
