Sub Pop Records famously has their finger on the ever changing Seattle sound, signing suburban teen angsters Nirvana and Soundgarden in the ’80s and the rustic perfectionists Fleet Foxes in the whatever we are nows.

Their latest signing, The Head & The Heart, lie somewhere between Seattle and Portland, a three-hour drive south where the urbane roots rock of The Decemberists (among others) reigns. Where they go from here is in the hands of the Sub Pop producers; the plan is to ‘spruce up’ their indie songs for an album this summer … although I’m not sure what more the tracks on this playlist really need.
